DELPH-IN at the University of Melbourne

The UniMelb Language Technology Group is part of the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at the University of Melbourne. Members of the UniMelb LT group working on DELPH-IN related research are Tim Baldwin and Rebecca Dridan. Tim is working on "deep lexical acquistion", i.e. the development of automatic methods for bootstrapping deep lexical resources, focusing particularly on the various grammars under development within the DELPH-IN initiative. He is also working with the NTT Machine Translation Research Group on word sense disambiguation over the Hinoki treebank/sensebank. Rebecca is working on Japanese question answering, using JACY to carry out question analysis, and hopes to expand the scope of her research to look at cross-language question answering.
